How to download X videos on iPhone
On iPhone, the first option to check is X’s own Download video action. If the uploader or your account is not eligible, copying the post link does not bypass that restriction.
Step by step
Open the video’s post
Tap the post so you are on its detail view, not only watching it inside the timeline.
Check the three-dot menu
Choose Download video when X shows it. X documents this option for eligible Premium downloads where the uploader permits saving.
Copy the link if needed
Use Share › Copy link to Post to keep the permanent URL. This saves the address to the clipboard, not the video to your iPhone.
Why the native option varies between posts
The availability is controlled by X and the person who uploaded the video. One post can display Download video while another does not, even on the same iPhone.
A protected post or a video whose uploader disabled downloads should not be treated as a technical error to work around.
Copying an X link on iPhone
From the post detail view, tap Share and then Copy link to Post. The clipboard should contain an x.com or twitter.com URL with /status/ and a numeric post identifier.
If you copied a profile URL, return to the specific post and use its Share menu. A downloader cannot choose which media item on a profile you intended.
Where Safari puts web downloads
For any file you later download through Safari, Apple places browser downloads in the Files app. Open Files, choose Browse and open Downloads. Safari also exposes a Downloads button near the address field for recent transfers.
This Files behavior is separate from the X app’s own native download destination.
