How to download TikTok photos
TikTok photo posts can contain one image or a swipeable carousel. The native Save photo action can save selected images or the complete set when the creator allows downloads.
Step by step
Open the photo post
Make sure you are viewing the swipeable post itself rather than a creator profile or a repost preview.
Choose Share, then Save photo
TikTok displays Save photo when the creator permits downloads for that post.
Select the images
For a multi-photo post, choose Select all or pick only the images you want, then tap Save.
Saving one photo versus the whole carousel
TikTok’s official flow lets you select individual images or all photos in the post. Review the selection before saving so you do not have to remove unwanted slides from your gallery afterward.
The order of the saved images follows the post, but your photo library may display them by download time.
Why Save photo is missing
The uploader can prevent downloads. TikTok’s help page treats a missing Save photo action as a creator permission choice, not an error that should be bypassed.
The option can also be irrelevant when the post is actually a rendered video made from photos. In that case, check for Save video instead.
Photo posts and video posts save differently
A swipeable photo post can save several separate images, while a video made from photos saves as one moving file. Check how the post behaves before choosing Save photo or Save video.
Saving the photo set does not embed the soundtrack you hear in TikTok. If music, timing and transitions matter, the video version is the more useful result.
