How to download Twitch clips

A Twitch clip is a short published moment with its own share URL. Downloading it starts with that clip address, not a live channel, VOD or Creator Dashboard page.

Step by step

  1. Copy the clip link

    Open the individual clip and use Share › Copy link, or copy its browser address. The URL should identify one clip by its unique slug.

  2. Paste it into the Twitch downloader

    Submit the public clip URL. The tool checks that exact clip and lists the MP4 resolutions currently available for it.

  3. Choose a quality and save

    Pick a higher resolution for detail or a smaller one for a quicker mobile transfer, then use the real download button beside that version.

How to choose an MP4 quality

Available resolutions depend on what Twitch prepared for that particular clip. A 1080p option gives more pixels but usually creates a larger transfer; 720p or a smaller version is often enough for a phone screen or quick share.

The result list reports the resolution and may include frame rate and size. No resolution is invented: if a quality is absent, the source did not make that rendition available at lookup time.

Where Twitch clips are saved

On desktop, the MP4 normally appears in the browser download tray and Downloads folder. On iPhone, Safari places web downloads in Files › Browse › Downloads; from there, Share › Save Video can copy an eligible MP4 to Photos.

On Android, check the browser’s Downloads list or the Files app. If the browser opens the MP4 in a media tab instead of saving it, use that tab’s download or Share menu.

Twitch’s own clip options

Twitch documents landscape and portrait clip versions and offers native downloading inside its clip management flow. That route is especially useful for a streamer managing clips connected to their own channel.
